Les Bois Mancrou is a brand new, two bedroom Gite set in a nineteenth century farm courtyard in the depths of rural Charente, in South Western France. It has been created from an old stone barn and with exposed beams in some of the rooms.
It is surrounded by undulating country with fields growing sunflowers, maize and corn and with an abundance of wildlife such as Deer, hares, birds and butterflies.
This is rural France at its best – restful, tranquil, spacious, no traffic except the odd tractor, blue skies, the sounds of the countryside and with plenty of mature grounds within which to wander or to indulge in the heated indoor pool.
Located beside a peaceful hamlet with no shops, railway stations or carparks it is still only seven or eight minutes to Ruffec where you can restock the wine rack, the fruit bowl and the bread bin with more croissants. Alternatively stroll through the stalls at one of the local farmers’ markets which take place on a weekly basis in most of the surrounding towns and villages.
The Gite is new in 2017 and therefore offers up to date fittings, furniture and facilities which have not been worn out by previous occupants.
Enjoy the passing seasons at any time of the year secure in the knowledge that your peace and quiet will not be interrupted, that there is always somewhere else to walk or take a bike and the pool will not have moved.
Take a day out to Bordeaux or La Rochelle, visit some of the tourist attractions which are within easy reach and depending upon your family situation or visit one of the “reserved” villages which are nearby and retain the antique atmosphere of this part of rural France.
